RiderTua.com – Mercedes-Benz has presented a number of refreshes and updates for a number of its cars. But they didn’t stop there, and they started refreshing other models that were quite popular in the market. Like the G-Class which has just received its latest generation model from Mercedes-Benz. Although in terms of appearance not much has changed, this model is designed to go off-road more easily.

Mercedes-Benz Presents the Latest Generation Model of the G-Class

The G-Class is known as the only Mercedes-Benz car that has never completely changed its appearance for more than four decades. Even for the latest generation model released this year there are no significant changes, although there are slight changes made to several parts. Such as the front bumper which has a ‘squircle look’ design as well as cladding on the A pillars and a spoiler lip on the roof of the car.

Mercedes-Benz added an off-road cockpit to make it easier to access off-road features, with the latest G-Class designed to be tougher on all roads. As an SUV, the G-Class can go through puddles, mud and rocky roads with ease. Moreover, with the addition of Trail, Rock and Sand driving modes, as well as the Dynamic Select feature, driving this car will be even more fun.

Hybrid Engine

Unlike the previous model, the G-Class now offers a hybrid variant, or more precisely a mild hybrid. Relying on a 3,000 cc six-cylinder twin turbocharged petrol engine and hybrid technology, the car can produce 469 hp of power and 760 Nm of torque. Powerful enough for an off-road SUV like the G-Class, but more environmentally friendly.

Apart from these variants, Mercedes-Benz also offers a choice of 3,000 cc six-cylinder hybrid diesel engine with 387 hp and 950 Nm of torque. Then there is the AMG variant with a 4,000 cc biturbo hybrid engine with power and torque output of 605 hp and 1,050 Nm respectively. In fact, these two variants have higher performance when compared to the petrol variant.

Currently, Mercedes-Benz has not announced the selling price of the G-Class. If sold in Indonesia, the price could reach more than IDR 5 billion.
