“I like to go the off-road performance side,” Uchiyama said. “It’s one option to have a high-performance bZ4X. It would probably be a bZ4X GR S like [the] Hilux GR Sport. We are studying in the model life, but I cannot say when or how right now.”

The Hilux GR Sport, available in select countries outside the US, does not have full-fledged upgrades to be considered a hardcore off-roader. Still, it has a slightly more powerful engine, enhanced chassis, and other cosmetic updates.

The bZ4X won’t have difficulties getting more electric ponies, given that its more luxurious counterpart, the Lexus RZ, has up to 308 horsepower on tap. A hotter RZ F model is coming, proving that the e-TNGA platform could handle even more.
