Megastar Jay Chou has reached superstardom since the release of his debut album two decades ago. Not only is the singer-songwriter, actor and director multitalented and tremendously successful in his career, he’s also an avid art collector.
He also has a fashion label called Phantaci. Scrolling through his social media, we can see he knows his rare watches and vintage wines, too – yet it might be his automotive collection that stands out the most.
Here are some stunning examples, ranging from limited-edition supercars and hypercars to classic and bespoke one-offs.

1. McLaren Senna
This is one of Chou’s recent purchases. Launched in 2019 and named after legendary Formula One racing driver Ayrton Senna, there are only 500 of this exact model around the world, per NM Plus. The fastest track-focused road hypercar features a highly recognisable top-mounted exhaust system with three outlet pipes.
Other than Chou, fellow McLaren Senna owners include Aaron Kwok and Jimmy Lin, who both are renowned car aficionados in showbiz, per HK01.
2. Pagani Huayra
As the Italian carmaker only produces around 40 cars per year with hand-built processes, any Pagani that exists in the world would be considered a rare collectible. The Pagani Huayra was named “The Hypercar of the Year 2012” by Top Gear magazine when it was launched, with only 100 units manufactured. Its six-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine was especially developed by Mercedes-AMG. Chou’s Huayra can be seen in his 2014 music video “Yang-Ming Mountain”.
3. LaFerrari Aperta
Some carmakers do not just sell their limited editions to the richest buyers – you also have to be a long-term and loyal client of the brand to be considered. LaFerrari’s open-top model – LaFerrari Aperta – only has 210 units produced globally with an aerodynamic design and hybrid engine technology. It’s priced at an estimated US$2 million, although it fetched US$10 million at an auction in 2017.

4. Lamborghini Veneno
With only four coupes and nine roadsters produced in 2013 to 2014, and a US$4 million-and-above price tag, it’s not a surprise to see Chou showing off this Lamborghini Veneno pretty often. While it is built for the road, it also incorporates elements from racing prototypes including a large adjustable rear wing to push for a 356km/h top speed.
5. Dodge Charger
Chou’s collection is not just about the latest ultra-luxurious supercars though. For instance, this vintage Dodge Charger made quite a few cameos in the music video for his 2007 song “Rainbow”. The third generation Charger was produced between 1971 and 1974, and is considered by many as one of the best American classic cars.

7. Toyota AE86
Many fans probably still see Chou as Takumi Fujiwara, the protagonist in the 2005 film adaptation of manga series Initial D. Naturally, the car driven by Fujiwara, a Toyota AE86, is often linked to Chou too. When filming was completed, Chou actually bought the Toyota AE86 used in the film from the production company but, according to GirlStyle, he gifted the car to Chinese singer and actor Karry Wang in 2021.
8. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 edition
If you still need more proof of Chou’s passion for supercars, one of his songs from 2011 is literally called “Sports Car Model” and the music video features this particular ride.
Chou also owns some relatively more accessible four-wheelers, including a Lamborghini Urus – a gift from his wife Hannah Quinlivan in 2018.
