The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT will show its face for the first time at Monterey Car Week, and it’s ready to take the performance brand into its next chapter. Arriving at Pebble Beach next week, the new two-door sports car aims to continue Mercedes-AMG’s legacy of brash, muscular, high-performance machinery under the Mercedes-Benz umbrella.

The new AMG GT will continue to carry the torch as the brand’s flagship sports car.

With all-new styling, updated technology, and improved performance, it’s certain to aim for a high standard of driving excellence. While Mercedes-AMG hasn’t released any official specifications yet, we expect the new AMG GT to be every bit as quick and engaging as the last coupe to bear the nameplate.

According to Mercedes-Benz, this will be the fifth model developed totally in-house by Mercedes-AMG. It will succeed the Mercedes-AMG SLS, the previous two-door AMG GT, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and the AMG SL-Class.

Redesigned Mercedes-AMG GT Evolves From Its Predecessors

The redesigned AMG GT will likely from the features and design that made the previous model a success.

The previous-generation Mercedes-AMG GT was a ferocious performance car. It used the classic front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration with a twin-turbo V8 making between 523 and 720 horsepower. Its low-slung, athletic proportions helped the coupe stick out with some retro flare.

Sadly, Mercedes-Benz pulled the plug on the AMG GT in 2021. But two other models did appear to fill the gap: the AMG SL-Class roadster and the AMG GT Four-Door Coupe. Now, Mercedes-AMG is breaking out the big guns in this all-new model with the latest technology and performance upgrades.

Full specs aren’t yet available, but the high-performance coupe likely draws some of its engineering and technology from the AMG SL-Class and AMG GT Four-Door Coupe.

The All-New Mercedes-AMG GT Will Be On Display At The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Mercedes-AMG will have the new AMG GT in tow when it arrives at the 72nd annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

“For many decades, Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at its conclusion have been a fascinating showcase for highly exclusive automotive gems as well as for customers and enthusiasts,” Mercedes-AMG CEO Michael Schieb said. “There is no more suitable setting to show our exclusive brands and models to the public while combining tradition with modernity.”

Mercedes-AMG will also display a special edition of the AMG S 63 alongside the latest models from Mercedes-Maybach, the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven, and Mercedes-Benz Heritage Sport and Super Sport models.
