On July 20, 2023, Toyota formally launched the 2024 Toyota Camry. Although many people expected Toyota to inaugurate an all-new Camry generation this year, the 2024 Camry still belongs to the nameplate’s 8th generation – the XV70 series. Nevertheless, it won’t be unreasonable to expect the 2024 Camry to continue being America’s best-selling midsize sedan.
As the 7th iteration of its generation, the 2024 Toyota Camry needs to hold out for at least 1 more year before the redesigned 2025 Camry takes the baton. So what features will the 2024 Camry offer to continue the nameplate’s 21-year streak as the premier midsize sedan in the US? Furthermore, should you drive home the last model year of the seasoned XV70 Camry generation, or should you wait for the all-new 2025 Toyota Camry? Read on, and we’ll give you the facts to help you make the best decision.
10 Will The Toyota Camry Be Redesigned In 2024?
Contrary to many predictions that the 2024 Camry will be an all-new, redesigned model, Toyota has decided to squeeze out at least 1 more year from the 8th-generation XV70 Camry. However, the long wait might soon be over, as some spy shots of what could be the 2025 Camry prototype have already circulated online. There’s a possibility that Toyota will reveal the redesigned 2025 Toyota Camry either in the summer or fall of 2024.
9 2024 Toyota Camry Exterior
The 2024 Camry, as Toyota USA puts it, will just “keep on rolling” with the previous year’s offerings, with no design or feature upgrades. However, this doesn’t mean that the 2024 Camry can be glossed over.
The 2024 Camry LE and XLE trims are easily distinguishable from the SE and XSE trims through the front grille and fascia designs. The Camry LE and XLE trims get a more “executive” presence with their simple yet commanding front grille and lower intake design, while the SE and XSE trims reveal their fun-loving characteristics with a more aggressive front fascia, honeycomb grille design, and sporty air intakes. Depending on the trim level, the 2024 Camry’s stock wheels can range from 16 to 19 inches in diameter. The Camry TRD dominates all grades in terms of aggressive exterior styling, but for a $1,000 premium, you can also add the Nightshade package to SE trims to get that black-out, edgy exterior look.

8 2024 Toyota Camry Interior
True to its premium midsize lineage, the 2024 Toyota Camry offers excellent ride comfort and quietness that drivers and passengers can appreciate both on busy streets and long highway stretches. Thanks to the Toyota New Global Architecture-K (TNGA-K) platform – which underpins Toyota’s midsize and full-size monocoque cars, minivans/MPVs, and crossover SUVs – the Toyota Camry enjoys a low center of gravity, generous cabin space, and top-notch on-road performance. The 2024 Camry also employs luxury-level noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) countermeasures like sound insulation and vibration-dampening materials throughout the cabin.

7 What Engine Will The 2024 Toyota Camry Have?
The 2024 Toyota Camry carries over three trusted mills for its lineup this year – two gas-powered engines and one hybrid powerplant. The base 2.5-liter I4 engine provides a decent 202-206 hp and 184-186 lb-ft of torque while still returning a combined fuel economy rating of 28 to 32 MPG (which is very good for a midsize sedan).
Do They Still Make A V6 Camry?
Six-cylinder sedan fans are in for a treat, as Toyota’s 3.5-liter Dynamic Force V6 engine will still make its way under the hoods of the 2024 Camry XLE V6, XSE V6, and TRD trims. Equipped with Toyota’s D-4S direct injection system and the VVT-iW variable valve timing system, the 2024 Camry’s V6 engine can deliver 301 horses and 267 lb-ft of twist yet still return 26 miles to the gallon.

What Transmission Does The 2024 Toyota Camry Have?
The 2024 Camry’s 2.5-liter I4 and 3.5-liter V6 engines will both be mated to Toyota’s Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission. Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option is available for the 2.5-liter I4 engine (sadly, not for the V6).
6 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid
For MPG misers out there, the 2024 Toyota Camry still retains its hybrid lineup. Using a 2.5-liter gasoline I4 engine (Atkinson cycle, 176 hp, 163 lb-ft) paired with 2 electric motors (1 dedicated to traction while both motors contribute to battery charging), the 2024 Camry Hybrid delivers a total system output of 208 hp. Although the electrified Camry’s horsepower output is roughly the same as that of the 4-cylinder gas version, the 2024 Camry Hybrid can achieve a fantastic combined fuel economy rating of 52 MPG.
All 2024 Camry Hybrid trims use Toyota’s Electronically-controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) with Sequential Shift mode, which can emulate the shifting feel of a 6-speed A/T through paddle shifters or the shift lever.

4 2024 Toyota Camry Reliability
Although J.D. Power and Consumer Reports have yet to evaluate the 2024 Toyota Camry, we know for a fact that it is a carry-over model year. Hence, it will not be unreasonable to predict that the 2024 Camry’s quality and reliability ratings will be very similar to that of the 2023 Camry – if not better. More often than not, the later model years of a design generation tend to outgrow the reliability problems of the earlier models. For reference, the 2023 Toyota Camry received a “great” 84/100 quality and reliability score from J.D. Power and a 4.6/5 expert review score from Kelley Blue Book.
3 2024 Toyota Camry Price
For 2024, the Toyota Camry’s trim lineup remains exactly as it was for the previous model year. However, all 2024 Toyota Camry trims will have a $100-$200 increase in starting price over their respective 2023 Camry variants.

2 2025 Toyota Camry Redesign
The all-new 2025 Toyota Camry will likely be launched sometime in 2024. Although the redesigned Camry will undoubtedly be based on the same TNGA-K platform as its predecessors were, Toyota will definitely give the 2025 Camry’s exterior, interior, and powertrain a complete makeover.
In anticipation of the Camry redesign, many creative artists like Digimods Designs have envisioned the 2025 Camry digitally (video shown above) based on clues and spy photos that have circulated online for the past few months. In the video, we can see the rendered 2025 Camry as a smaller, low-profile sibling of the 2023 Toyota Crown. The front grille and fascia are both similar to those of the 2023 Lexus RX350, but the sleek headlights seem to be novel additions.
Many industry enthusiasts forecast that the 2025 Toyota Camry will drop the 2.5-liter I4 and 3.5-liter V6 engines to adopt the new 2.4-liter turbo I4 mill that currently powers America’s best-selling luxury vehicle, the Lexus RX.

2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Toyota is scheduled to launch its new batch of EVs between 2026 and 2027, hence it’s likely that the Camry Hybrid will still be part of the all-new 2025 Camry lineup. However, will the 2025 Camry Hybrid carry over the 2.5-liter, 208-hp hybrid mill (like the RAV4), or will it adopt the turbocharged 2.4-liter, 340-hp Hybrid MAX powerplant (like the Crown)? Alternatively, will the 2025 Camry carry two hybrid engine options? Time will tell.

1 How Much Is The 2025 Toyota Camry?
It will be reasonable to expect that the all-new 2025 Toyota Camry will increase its price more significantly than the 2024 Camry did over its predecessor model year. The entry-level 2025 Camry will likely start somewhere near the $28,000 mark, while the 2025 Camry Hybrid’s base price will be slightly over $30,000.
