The world got its initial look at Toyota’s first Lexus model to be made in Indiana.

The Lexus TX, a three-row luxury SUV, will be made at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana and according to the company is “made specifically for the North American market.”

The announcement comes about four months after Toyota unveiled the Grand Highlander, also in production at the Gibson County plant, at the Chicago Auto Show. The Lexus TX will be built on the Grand Highlander chassis. The new model replaces the recently discontinued RX-L, and was unveiled the same day as another new model, the Lexus GX.

The Lexus TX joins other vehicles made by the more than 7,000 workers at the Indiana facility, which also produces the Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Grand Highlander and Sienna. The plant assembles more than 400,000 vehicles annually.
