PALOS HILLS, IL — Five incidents of car break-ins and a stolen Mercedes Benz were reported in Palos Hills between May 17 and May 24.

Burglars ransacked a car May 17 in the 8200 block of Charles Avenue. The resident parked their vehicle in the driveway on May 16. When they returned to their vehicle the next day, police said the vehicle had been ransacked. The burglars took approximately $300.

Another burglary to a motor vehicle was also reported on May 17 on the 102500 block of 82nd Court. The residents told police they parked their three vehicles in the driveway the day before. When they returned the next day, the inside of all three vehicles had been ransacked. Police said the vehicles were left unlocked. The burglars took an unknown amount of cash.

A resident parked their vehicle on their driveway in the 10300 block of 82nd Court on May 16. The next day, they discovered their driver’s side door was ajar and the inside of their vehicle was ransacked. The vehicle was apparently left unlocked.

A business owner told Palos Hills officers that they parked their Mercedes G63 May 23 behind their business in the 10400 block of South Harlem Avenue. A few minutes later, the car was stolen. It was discovered a day later in a rollover accident in Stickney.

Police said a resident parked their vehicle in the community parking lot May 24 in the 8400 block of 101st Terrace. When they returned to their vehicle a short while later, the rear driver’s side window was shattered. No valuables were visible and no entry made to the vehicle.
