Mercedes-Benz has discovered the tyres fitted to its CLA45 AMG S are not to the manufacturer’s specifications, presenting a higher risk of punctures.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled seven examples of its 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG S, after it found the tyres fitted to the performance sedan sit outside its specifications – putting drivers at higher risk of a puncture and crash.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “The tyres within this production range may not meet manufacturing specifications which may lead to deflation of the tyre.

“A sudden loss of air pressure may result in loss of vehicle control increasing the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

A full list of vehicle identification numbers for the seven vehicles involved in the recall can be found here.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has advised owners of the affected vehicles to contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
