The who’s who of Sydney were nursing sore heads on Sunday, but say Kyle Sandilands’ lavish celebrity wedding in Darling Point was the event of the year.

“It was an absolutely fabulous wedding,” Karl Stefanovic told The Daily Telegraph of the no-expense-spared extravaganza at Swifts $60 million mansion on Saturday.

“A great big Aussie mix of family and friends. And a Premier and a PM whose partners are more fun than them.”

“The best part,” Stefanovic said, “was Tegan’s grandfather walking her down the aisle, 97 years young.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese dodged the DJ decks at the KIIS FM shock jock’s reception, after courting controversy for taking a day off to attend.

“I’ll be honest with you, it was a big effort for him to come,” Beau Ryan said.

The former rugby league footballer told the Telegraph that most of his conversation with the PM revolved around Albanese’s delight in the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ win.

“I thought he’d turn up for a hi-and-bye, but was there for a lot of the night. I had visions of Albo with the headphones on, fully DJ’ing, but a DJ came in after Guy [Sebastian] and Conrad [Sewell] performed,” Ryan continued.

Albanese took the opportunity to mingle and pose for pictures with guests, including Samantha Jade and Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim, instead.

Sandilands, 51, host of The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM, and his fiancee, Kynaston 36, a former employee of the network shared their first dance to Guy Sebastian, who sang Ray Charles’ Hallelujah I Love Her So.

“I loved performing for their first dance, which started out as a romantic moment between the two of them, and ended with the whole room joining in with them,” Sebastian said.

“I’ve known Kyle for 20 years now, he has always been in my corner and it’s great to see him so happy in love as a husband and a dad.”

The ARIA-award winning singer added that love, laughs, and a tight knit community made the day special.

“It was the diversity in that community which made for some seriously interesting people watching,” Sebastian continued.

“Tegan is such a kind and calm person and seeing them balance each other out on the day made it obvious to everyone that they are perfect for each other.”

Ryan added that the highlight for him was the 3pm nuptials, held shortly after the 120 guests arrived.

Kyle was really overwhelmed and emotional. The wow moment was when we all turned around and saw her at the end of the aisle,” he said.

“My wife grabbed me and said: ‘Look at Kyle’. Seeing him be vulnerable was quite powerful.”

The 56-bedroom estate was decorated in a white theme with $150,000 of flowers, Vivid light shows, chandeliers, a 5-tier “monster” cake and table settings that included wax sealed menus of the three-course dinner.

The total bill came to around $950,000.

“It was amazing, the whole thing,” former professional boxer Jeff Fenech said.

“The speeches were great, rubbing shoulders and talking to the PM was really special.

“When Kyle does things, they’re big. The property was out of this world. I got so many phone numbers of everybody that performed to use for my future parties.”

Fenech couldn’t say it was the most extravagant wedding he’s ever attended, having been a guest of James Packer’s, and a billionaire who was recently wed in Mexico.

“But nobody does it like Kyle. He doesn’t make anyone feel bigger or better than anyone else. He mixed with everybody. I had a few margaritas, so I have a bit of a sore head this morning, that’s for sure.”

The sit-down reception ended at 9pm, when the chapel was turned into a nightclub.

“To me, life is about memories,” Fenech continued.

“You can’t take your houses or cars to the cemetery. Dancing with my wife Suzee last night, and sharing in a beautiful moment, is a memory I’ll take with me.”
