Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has opened its first regional stockyard in Haryana’s Faruknagar. According to the firm, the new “strategically located” stockyard will reduce delivery time for dealers in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir from the current six to eight days to a maximum of two days.

Toyota’s new stockyard has a parking capacity of 900 vehicles and is spread out over five acres. This is the company’s second such facility, following the opening of its first regional stockyard in Guwahati, Assam in 2020. This regional facility assists dealers in India’s northeastern area. Toyota claims that this latest initiative by the firm will also help customers in the region, as a regional stockyard will assure delivery to dealers in the shortest possible period, taking into account proximity and availability to a huge stock of all Toyota automobiles.

Toyota also believes that the new facility will improve speed, flexibility, cost savings, and CO2 emissions by maximising vehicle dispatches via train. Presently, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) employs trains for around 60% of its overall vehicle dispatches and the company aims to expand that to 80% while also being able to deliver 5,000 vehicles each month.

Commenting on the development, V. Wiseline Sigamani, General Manager, TKM, said, “We are elated to announce the inauguration of our first regional stockyard in Haryana. The northern part of India is a very important market for us and the strategic location at Faruknagar, will further enable us to cater to the customer base in this market with ease, keeping our objective of a customer-first approach.”

“As a pioneer in green mobility solutions, Toyota is leading the way towards a better tomorrow and has always put an emphasis on environmentally sustainable solutions in everything we do, be it material sourcing, manufacturing, or sales & services. By being in close proximity to our patrons through the regional stockyard, we are not only able to reduce transit costs but also reduce CO2 emissions significantly in the process, through reduced logistics,” he further added.

This comes after Toyota recently unveiled its brand-new Innova Hycross. The bookings for the Toyota Innova Hycross are currently open for a token amount of ₹50,000 via TKM’s official website or at the company’s authorised dealerships.
