Texas kitchen cabinet mogul Gene Ponder auctioned off his entire collection of classic cars and memorabilia in late September. It included some of the best designs from Aston Martin, MG, Ferrari, Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz and other manufacturers, as well as some quirky bits of automotive memorabilia.

It seems like Ponder liked Ferrari (and the Scuderia Ferrari racing team) most of all. A 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC sold for more than $797,000. A 1974 Ferrari 246 Dino GTS with Scaglietti bodywork drew $632,500. A Michael Schumacher replica race suit sold for about $4,000.

In fact, he liked them so much that he also had a Ferrari race car twin-sized bed. It appears to be an official product of the Scuderia, outfitted with blankets and sheets. A signature from the seven-time Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship winner is affixed to a handful of nameplates around the bed. That sold for more than $5,000.

A set of three trash cans, two of them colored red with Ferrari logos prominently displayed, sold for $3,000.

Ponder is also a fan of Bugatti, letting go of six recreations of models produced from 1930 to 1957. He also owned several gas- and electric-powered Bugatti children’s cars.

A few other oddities rounded out the $24 million auction that ended on September 24th. A 1971 MG MGB pickup conversion by Moss Motors raised almost $20,000. A 1951 MG TD with a Studebaker V-6 netted more than $41,000.

Sweet dreams to whoever’s sleeping in the Ferrari race car bed tonight. Maybe you can dream up a better race strategy for the Scuderia than the current crop.
