Tesla’s Cybertruck spotted being tested with additional cameras

A recent spotting of Tesla’s Cybertruck shows that it’s being tested with what seem like additional cameras.

Twitter user Whole Mars Catalog shared a photo on Twitter of the Cybertruck. The highly anticipated vehicle was seen being unloaded with what seemed like a number of sensors, including some camera calibration equipment.

The pictured Cybertruck appears to be pretty battered up and covered in dirt, suggesting that Tesla has been putting it through rigorous real-world testing.

With the expected Cybertruck deliveries to begin in roughly one year, the picture seems to confirm that Tesla’s team is working diligently to complete the truck’s final sensor and camera alignments ahead of the production ramp.

During an interview with the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, Musk stated that the Tesla team had “got too carried away with the…” and then paused, which hinted that they struggled to bring a handful of the Cybertruck’s original features to fruition.

But these struggles certainly are no match for Musk and the dedicated Tesla team. They have continued to prove to the world that they are the company that is solving humanity’s issues by fighting for renewable energy, making electric vehicles affordable, fun, safe, and stylish.

The Cybertruck is built for strength from the ground up. The vehicle’s frame is made entirely of stainless steel, which was infamously demonstrated by Tesla’s Chief of Design Franz von Holzhausen by bashing it with a sledgehammer at Cybertruck’s unveiling. Its glass is made of Tesla Armor Glass.

Elon Musk has two goals for this year and they’re going to “require insane work by many super talented people.”

Under Musk’s leadership, his companies and their employees have accomplished quite a bit in 2022, including massive improvements to FSD Beta, working towards Tesla Semi deliveries, expanding Tesla insurance, and beginning a huge switch over to Tesla Vision, and a huge partnership between T-Mobile and Starlink, among other things.

However, those things haven’t slowed down Musk to achieve his main two goals by the end of 2022: Getting Starship to orbit and a wide release of FSD Beta.

Perhaps these are quite exciting for Musk and the greater Tesla community. However, one particular sector that needs improvements is Tesla Service. It seems they are unable to keep up with the increasing demand, and Musk has confirmed that they are prioritizing it.

Earlier this summer, this was all but confirmed as part of Musk’s “Master Plan Part 3” on the “Getting Stoned Podcast” with Johnna Crider. On the podcast, Musk stated that Part 3 is about growing the company and expanding sustainable energy.

“Master plan part three is about scaling. Like, how do we scale to get that fully sustainable energy economy and what tonnage do we need of what materials, and what is maybe the best way to get all of those materials and turn them into batteries?” Musk says.

Musk added, “The fundamental governor of the rate at which we can transition to sustainability is the rate at which we can grow the output of lithium-ion batteries.”

In addition to scaling the company and sustainable energy economy, Musk and Crider talked about the declining birthrate, poverty, and literacy.

Tesla has just started to roll out an updated version of FSD Beta to employees.

The update is version 2022.20.11 and has been confirmed to be FSD Beta 10.69.1.1.

Since releasing FSD Beta 10.69 to employees on August 20th, Tesla has since released it to the first 1,000 public beta testers.

Tesla then issued a minor update with Beta 10.69.1 which went out to the same 1,000 testers but also added a few more.

Tesla was expected to release version 10.69.1 to additional testers; up to 10,000, but we haven’t seen that yet. Tesla may be looking to wrap up a few loose ends before expanding the beta further and it’s possible that’s what we’re looking at here with 10.69.1.1.

Once 10.69.1.1 passes the employee phase, we’ll expect to see all existing testers on 10.69.1 to be updated to this latest beta.

There’s a rumor that Tesla will then include more testers this weekend on this latest beta, so look out for that in the coming days.

FSD Beta 10.69 has been a long time coming and features several significant improvements. With version 10.69.1 Tesla also merged in additional features into the beta so that it now contains all of the features from Tesla’s 2022.20 production branch.

Tesla also reset FSD Beta strikes with beta 10.69.1, letting many people out of FSD Beta jail.

This includes new features such as Seat belt enhancements, energy prediction improvements and many undocumented features that you can check out in the release notes.

Beta 10.69.1.1 only contains bug fixes and the release notes are the same as beta 10.69.1. Tesla is rumored to release this version to more testers still on 10.12.2 this weekend.
