Toyota is recalling an estimated 280,000 pickups and SUVs in the U.S. due to a software malfunction.

According to the automaker, it initiated the recall because there was a possibility that the vehicles could move forward slowly at a low speed while in neutral, leading to an increased risk of an accident, if there are no brakes to stop the vehicle from moving.

Toyota is recalling three of its models: Tundra, Sequoia and Lexus LX 600 all made between 2022-2024.

Customers will receive a notice about the recalled vehicles by late April, after which the company said they can bring their vehicles to their local dealerships for a free software upgrade.

You can find out if your car is included in the recall, you can enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate information at Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Affected customers are encouraged to call Toyota customer support at 1-800-331-4331 for Toyota vehicles and Lexus customer support at 1-800-255-3987 for Lexus vehicles.
