Toyota targets buyers with two trucks. The Tacoma (7.2) is the brand’s compact pickup. It has many standard features, which help add value. Also, its TRD trims are capable, rugged choices for off-roading. Toyota’s full-size truck is the Tundra (8.1). Though it has a below-average payload rating, the Tundra impresses with its potent engine range and refined ride.

Honda doesn’t make a full-size truck but offers the Ridgeline (8.4), one of the best compact pickups you can buy. The Ridgeline is less off-road-friendly than rivals such as the Tacoma. It makes up for this with its poised ride and upmarket interior, however.

The Ridgeline has a higher score than the average of Toyota’s two trucks, so Honda wins again.
