In the first race, the GR Corolla gets an early lead and a better launch thanks to its all-wheel drive system. It could put power down much more quickly, but the Civic Type R gained some lost ground towards the end of the track thanks to its power advantage and slightly lower curb weight (3,252 pounds in the Corolla played 3,188 in the CTR). Despite this, the GR Corolla walks away with a win in the first round.

However, things were different for the second round as the Civic Type R got a better launch off the line. The Toyota had a half-car advantage initially, but like in the first round, the Honda reeled in the distance, ultimately winning towards the end of the quarter mile.
