Toyota is done for 2023, and now the focus shifts towards 2024. In 2024, Toyota’s first car could be a very familiar product. Sadly, this is not a popular global product, but the rebadged version of the Fronx. It was earlier predicted to be launched this year, but Toyota seems to have a change of mind. Toyota Taisor?
Toyota rebadging the Fronx is confirmed, but the name is yet to be finalised. Toyota recently trademarked the Taisor name, and that could be given to this rebadged Fronx. Barring the name change, we could see a new front design. The Taisor could get a front design similar to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. We could see slim eyebrow DRLs and a smaller grille. Other changes could include new headlamps and refreshed bumpers. The side profile should remain the same barring a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, we could see the same design, barring the changed badging.
Specs & features
Barring cosmetic changes, most of the things should remain the same. The Taisor should continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (87bhp/113Nm) and 1.0-litre turbo petrol (100bhp/150Nm). Transmission options should continue as manual and automatic on both engines. We could also see a CNG option like the Fronx. Feature-wise, the Taisor could come with a 9.0-inch infotainment, ARKAMYs sound system, wireless charging, heads-up display, 6 airbags, 6 speakers, rearview camera, etc.
Toyota car 2024 – Launch
Earlier reports had stated that Toyota could the Taisor by the end of this year. However, that doesn’t seem to be happening from the looks of it. Now, we think Toyota could launch the Taisor in the first quarter of 2024. What about the pricing? The Taisor could be Rs 30 to 40k more expensive than the Fronx. Toyota would justify that by giving extra warranty and some goodies. Once launched, it will rival the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite and also the Maruti Fronx.
