‘The Price is Right’ host Bob Barker dies at 99: His life in photos

The longtime host of "The Price is Right," Bob Barker, has died at age 99. Here, Bob Barker is inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters hall of fame at the Las Vegas Hilton on Monday, April 14, 2008 in Las Vegas.

Bob Barker was born Dec. 12, 1923. He spent nearly 18 years as the host of "Truth or Consequences," and was on the money with "The Price is Right" starting in 1972. He joked with contestants who "came on down" to show off their knowledge of the cost of everything from groceries to cars for 35 years. Barker has 19 Daytime Emmy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.

Barker’s first game-show gig was as host of NBC’s “Truth or Consequences” from Dec. 31, 1956, until 1974.

In the 1996 film “Happy Gilmore,” Barker is partnered in a celebrity pro-am tournament with Adam Sandler’s hockey playing golfer. After a heckler throws off Gilmore’s game, he and Barker get into a fistfight that won an MTV Movie Award for best fight sequence.
