Vanessa Feltz has opened up to OK! about being a grandmother, and how both of her daughters, Saskia and Allegra, have both enacted “screentime bans” for their own children, Zeke, Neroli, Amiel (AJ) and Cecily.

The TV presenter, who is set to appear on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating, has shared how this device ban has led to her grandchildren developing a love of reading, and car boot sales.

She told us: “No, neither of my daughters allow [screentime] at all. They don’t have any devices whatsoever.

“But because of that, they’re such avid readers and they love storybooks. I go to my library where they often sell second-hand books and pick up as many as I can as sometimes they’re going through two or three stories in a day.

“They’re also really into arts and crafts – it’s one of my favourite things to do together – and we’ll go down to the beach to collect spider crabs.”

And opening up about her grandkid’s recent love of car boot sales, she continued: “Our recent hobby is going to car boot sales – they’re so much fun!

“And each one of the children has a ‘collection’ so they’ll be hunting for something specific. Zeke loves old vintage cars, Neroli collects teapots, and it just keeps them engaged and interested as we go round different stalls.”
