Chevrolet’s Blazer is one of General Motors’ most respectable SUVs, and a new version is incoming with the Blazer EV SS. But we think that the SUV could look even more exciting than it does. We’re clearly not the only ones as a design shared by General Motors Design’s Instagram page revealed a dramatic-looking SUV, with some sharp and wild angles and lines.

These add up to create a modern reinterpretation of the classic Blazer K5 SUV, manufactured from the 1960s to the 1990s.

The Revived Blazer K5 Lacks A Front Grille

This design is the work of Darby, a General Motors car designer, and she has crafted a very exciting SUV. The front of the Blazer redesign is very slick, with a thin strip across the fascia with the Chevrolet name written in block capitals.

There is no grille on the front of the SUV, with the air dam below the fascia also quite small suggesting that this redesign of the SUV could be electric. Vertical headlights complete an aggressive look for the new SUV, which continues down the rest of the vehicle.

This design is also very similar to what HotCars digital artist Timothy Adry Emmanuel came up with when he created our Chevrolet Corvette SUV render.

At the back of the K7, Darby has crafted a very clear fascia that looks like it has a carbon strip below the rear window. On this carbon strip, is the Chevrolet name in block capitals like it is at the front of the SUV.

Vertical taillights help with the ultra-aggressive appearance of the new SUV, and a lack of exhaust pipes is a further suggestion that this redesigned Blazer K5 is an electrified SUV. The design is dynamic, sporty, and very muscular.

Aggressive Side Profile Creates A Rugged Blazer K5 Redesign

Down the side of the new Blazer K5, we can see sharp and jagged lines with huge off-road tires. These create a very aggressive off-road vibe for the rendered beast, with the tires giving the SUV a huge amount of ground clearance. We can also see a distinct bulge down the side of the Blazer over what looks like a flush door handle design, with large bulges in the fenders at both the front and the rear of the SUV as well.

While Chevrolet won’t likely build something this extreme, it is nice to see its designers thinking outside the box.
