A 9-year-old boy died Thursday night after a crash involving multiple vehicles on Highway 50 in Sacramento, officials said.The California Highway Patrol South Sacramento division said the crash was reported around 6:35 p.m. on westbound Hwy. 50 near the 59th Street onramp.At least three vehicles were part of the crash, one of them going over a highway barrier and landing on its roof and on the side of the road.CHP said that a 19-year-old woman from Sacramento was driving a Mazda and changed lanes, hitting the front of a Toyota being driven by a 52-year-old man with the rear end of her car. After hitting the Toyota, the driver of the Mazda first veered to the left and collided with the center divider wall and then veered two lanes to the right and side-swiped a Honda, causing it to go off the highway and overturn on the 59th Street on-ramp. The CHP said inside the Honda was a 9-year-old boy who was ejected onto the on-ramp and died. The boy was identified Friday as Abdelkarim Alhazaymeh by the coroner’s office.The boy was not wearing a seatbelt, CHP said. A 9-year-old boy died Thursday night after a crash involving multiple vehicles on Highway 50 in Sacramento, officials said.

The California Highway Patrol South Sacramento division said the crash was reported around 6:35 p.m. on westbound Hwy. 50 near the 59th Street onramp.

At least three vehicles were part of the crash, one of them going over a highway barrier and landing on its roof and on the side of the road.

CHP said that a 19-year-old woman from Sacramento was driving a Mazda and changed lanes, hitting the front of a Toyota being driven by a 52-year-old man with the rear end of her car.

After hitting the Toyota, the driver of the Mazda first veered to the left and collided with the center divider wall and then veered two lanes to the right and side-swiped a Honda, causing it to go off the highway and overturn on the 59th Street on-ramp.
